Along the way, the young lion encounters a colorful cast of characters including spunky lioness Nala, charismatic meerkat Timon, and loveable warthog Pumbaa. To claim his rightful place on the throne and save his beloved Pridelands , Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked Uncle Scar. The Lion King JR. features classic songs from the 1994 film such as “Hakuna Matata” and the Academy Award®-winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” as well as additional songs penned for the Broadway production.

This casting call for “The Lion King Jr” is open to students 4th through 12th grades. The time is come-and-go, but plan to spend 20-30 minutes with us. Come prepared with a memorized piece (something like a poem or a monologue) and an a cappella song. We’ll also include quick piano-accompanied singing of ‘Happy Birthday’ and a short dance audition — we’ll teach you a short bit of choreography, and then you’ll present it with a group. We want to hear and see what you bring to the stage!

This free workshop is optional for auditioning for “The Lion King Jr.”, but it’s a great chance to get some practice on the stage, brush up on those acting skills, and get some helpful pointers for your upcoming auditions!

But when Sneaky rises from his coffin, the picture changes, for no one dares confront a man who has come back from the dead. Capitalizing on his “invincibility” Sneaky soon takes over as sheriff, mayor, and town banker—not to mention facing down Rackham, the fastest gun in the West. Jon Stringer was born in the early 80s as the youngest of 3 children. Perhaps expectedly, he developed into an incurable attention seeker with a gift for making people laugh. A self-described "late bloomer" Jon would only discover his passion for stand-up comedy on his 30th birthday. One comedy open mic changed his entire trajectory. Now he's still channeling his inner child to avoid maturity at all costs. His uniquely optimistic perspective, combined with a commanding stage presence, makes him one of the most sought after new acts in comedy.
